Every Anatolia Looms piece has its own character, materials and history. With thoughtful care, your rug or kilim can retain its beauty for many years to come.

EVERYDAY CARE

• Vacuum gently using low suction.

• Avoid rotating or beater-brush vacuum heads, particularly on vintage, antique and delicate pieces.

• Vacuum in the direction of the pile where applicable.

• Rotate your rug occasionally to encourage even wear and exposure to light.

• Avoid prolonged exposure to strong direct sunlight, which may cause colours to fade naturally over time.

SPILLS & SPOT CLEANING

• Attend to spills as soon as possible.

• Gently blot excess liquid with a clean, dry, absorbent cloth. Do not rub or scrub.

• Avoid soaking the rug or using household detergents, bleach or harsh chemical cleaners.

• For valuable, antique, naturally dyed or delicate pieces, we recommend consulting a professional rug cleaner before attempting stain removal.

PROFESSIONAL CLEANING

For a thorough clean, we recommend using a professional cleaner experienced with handmade, wool, vintage and antique rugs.

Avoid steam cleaning, machine washing and standard carpet-cleaning machines unless a qualified rug-care professional has confirmed that the method is suitable for your particular piece.

SHEDDING

Some wool rugs may naturally release loose fibres, particularly when first placed in the home. This is generally a natural characteristic of wool and should gradually reduce with regular gentle care.

VINTAGE & ANTIQUE PIECES

Vintage and antique rugs may show variations in colour, pile, shape, texture, repairs or signs of previous use.

These characteristics are part of the history and individuality of the piece rather than imperfections. Please always handle older and more delicate rugs with additional care.

RUG PADS

We recommend using a suitable rug pad where appropriate. A rug pad can help reduce movement, provide additional cushioning and minimise wear between the rug and the floor.
