A beautifully handcrafted Aksaray cicim kilim from Central Anatolia, with finely woven geometric motifs, delicate horizontal bands and a soft natural palette of ivory, dusty rose, muted red, mustard, olive and grey.

What makes a cicim kilim special

Cicim (pronounced "jee-jim") is a decorative technique in which extra coloured threads are wrapped over the base weave, so the motifs sit slightly raised on the surface. Aksaray, in Central Anatolia, is one of the best-known regions for fine cicim weaving.

At 77 × 114 cm, this small kilim is ideal beside a bed, in an entryway or displayed as a wall hanging.

Care

Vacuum regularly without the beater bar, rotate every few months for even wear, and blot spills straight away with a damp cloth. For deep cleaning, we recommend a professional rug cleaner.
