The traditional Parmaklı (finger) motif is arranged in a balanced grid over a deep burgundy ground, brought to life with emerald green, turquoise, fuchsia, purple, crimson, coral and golden yellow.

The Afyon Parmaklı kilim

Afyon, in western Central Anatolia, is known for its Parmaklı kilims, a striking minimalist design of repeated finger-like motifs. Bold and graphic, they are among the most contemporary-looking traditional Anatolian weavings.

Where it works

At 95 × 100 cm, this small square kilim is ideal beside a bed, under a side table, at a front door or as a wall hanging.

Care

Vacuum regularly without the beater bar, rotate every few months for even wear, and blot spills straight away with a damp cloth. For deep cleaning, we recommend a professional rug cleaner.
