A striking handmade Turkish Afyon kilim in one of Anatolia's most iconic minimalist designs. The bold Parmaklı (finger) motif is worked in black, deep burgundy, aubergine and vibrant orange.

The Afyon Parmaklı kilim

Afyon, in western Central Anatolia, is known for its Parmaklı kilims, a striking minimalist design of repeated finger-like motifs. Bold and graphic, they are among the most contemporary-looking traditional Anatolian weavings.

Where it works

At 95 × 103 cm, this small kilim is ideal beside a bed, at a front door, under a side table or as a wall hanging.

Care

Vacuum regularly without the beater bar, rotate every few months for even wear, and blot spills straight away with a damp cloth. For deep cleaning, we recommend a professional rug cleaner.
