A joyful vintage Kepsut cicim kilim covered in an all-over lattice of olive-gold lines, each cell holding a small stepped diamond in turquoise, magenta, peach, violet, navy, burgundy or ivory on a soft grey ground. A narrow end band of multicolour ram's horn and tree motifs finishes the design.

The Kepsut kilim tradition

Kepsut is a small district of Balıkesir in north-western Turkey, home to Yörük and village weavers. Its cicim kilims are known for dense, raised brocade over a flatweave base and cheerful repeating motifs in many colours.
