A remarkable vintage Sultanhanı cicim kilim covered with hundreds of small geometric motifs in a highly detailed diamond composition, creating an almost mosaic-like effect in softly aged sage, dusty pink, lavender, blue and ivory.

What makes a cicim kilim special

Cicim (pronounced "jee-jim") is a decorative technique in which extra coloured threads are wrapped over the base weave, so the motifs sit slightly raised on the surface. The Aksaray region, including Sultanhanı, is renowned for fine cicim work.
