A remarkable example of Anatolian cicim weaving, with hundreds of finely woven diamond motifs arranged in striking diagonal bands of warm terracotta, olive green, burgundy, mustard and ivory.
What makes a cicim kilim special
Cicim (pronounced "jee-jim") is a decorative technique in which extra coloured threads are wrapped over the base weave, so the motifs sit slightly raised on the surface. Aksaray, in Central Anatolia, is one of the best-known regions for fine cicim weaving.
Where it works
At 110 × 130 cm, this kilim suits a bedside, reading corner or office, or can be displayed as a wall hanging.
Care
Vacuum gently without the beater bar, rotate every few months for even wear, and blot spills straight away with a damp cloth. For older pieces, we recommend professional cleaning.
