An authentic handmade Afyon cicim kilim with finely arranged geometric bands in rich burgundy, forest green, charcoal, mustard and ivory, creating a beautifully balanced tribal composition.

What makes a cicim kilim special

Cicim (pronounced "jee-jim") is a decorative technique in which extra coloured threads are wrapped over the base weave, so the motifs sit slightly raised on the surface. Afyon, in western Turkey, has a strong tradition of both cicim and kilim weaving.

Where it works

At 78 × 124 cm, this small kilim is ideal beside a bed, at a front door or as a wall hanging.

Care

Vacuum regularly without the beater bar, rotate every few months for even wear, and blot spills straight away with a damp cloth. For deep cleaning, we recommend a professional rug cleaner.
