The Döşemealtı tradition

Döşemealtı is a district near Antalya on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, where Yörük and village weavers have made rugs for generations. Döşemealtı rugs are known for their dense, hard-wearing wool, strong geometric designs and deep reds and blues, making them both striking and practical for everyday family life.

Where it works

At 200 × 300 cm, this rug is sized for a main living room or under a dining table. The red and navy palette suits traditional, farmhouse and eclectic interiors, and adds warmth to rooms with cool-toned walls or concrete floors.

Care
