A vibrant vintage Balıkesir kilim built from rhythmic horizontal bands of deep burgundy, bright orange and charcoal, broken up by ivory and teal stripes decorated with small embroidered-style stars, diamonds, ram's horn motifs and twisting chain lines in red, purple, green and black.

Balıkesir in north-western Turkey has a long tradition of village and Yörük weaving. Its kilims are known for banded layouts, finely brocaded cicim details and warm, lively colour.
